Firstly the fort is run by a very small group of volunteers who give up their free time to restore and clean the fort. There were a couple of lever arch files with pages about birds, which probably weren't Covid-10 safe (touching pages). There are a few chairs placed around to try and let you understand the lay of the land and the turps smell is due to decorating materials but what do you expect; They are trying to Renovate a really old building to make it easy for those without an imagination to imagine how glorious and steeped in history it is!
