This novel had come highly recommended from a friend who had recommend quite a few great novels to me before and the synopsis of the novel sounded good so I was expecting good things from. It brought tears to my eyes and wrenched my heart reading about Joey being taken from his adoptive parents only to be place in a home with a loving biological mother, but an abusive biological father. After he got out of prison she went back to this abusive man in hopes things would be different and told him about their little boy.
